It's Simpler Than You Think

What does a life of "Happy Just Being" actually look like?

It's not what you think.

It's not some zen monk sitting still with no thoughts. It's not pretending everything's fine when it's not. And it's definitely not about lowering your standards or giving up on what matters.

It's simpler than that.

It's doing the dishes and just... doing the dishes. Not thinking about the email you need to send or the conversation from yesterday. Just hands in warm water, plate getting clean.

It's laughing at something stupid and not wondering if you're laughing right.

It's feeling anxious and not making it mean something's wrong with you. Just "oh, there's anxiety", the same way you'd notice it's raining.

Happy just being isn't a personality type or a achievement. It's what happens when you stop treating this moment like a problem to solve or a test to pass.

You're already here. That's it. That's the whole thing.
Everything else is just extra.

"The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself." -Henry Miller

To the joy of simply being!
