I spent weeks waiting for meditation to make me feel peaceful. Mostly I just felt fidgety and a little confused about what I was supposed to be doing. What nobody told me is that fidgety and confused and staying anyway is exactly how a real meditation practice begins.
Meditation often starts off feeling restless and unclear, even when you expect it to feel peaceful. Staying with that experience instead of trying to fix it is often where the practice really begins.
