If you keep getting distracted during meditation, you’re not doing it wrong. Noticing the distraction and coming back is the practice.
Getting distracted during meditation may not feel like progress, but the moment you notice you have drifted off is where the practice begins. Each time you come back, you are strengthening your ability to stay present.
