Gentle Return

I used to think meditation was about having fewer thoughts. So every time my mind wandered, I’d treat it like a setback. I would pull myself back to the breath with a quiet frustration, like I was cleaning up a mess I shouldn’t have made. Wandering was never the mistake. The harshness I brought to it was.

It may not feel like progress, but when your mind wanders and you come back without adding frustration, something important is shifting. You are strengthening your ability to stay present in a way that feels lighter and easier to continue.
