Inner Stillness | Part One
To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders.

Welcome back Happy Just Beings!
Before we begin our inner stillness discussion over the next few days, I think it’s important to define inner stillness.
The highlighted section below is a definition and not my own.
Inner stillness refers to a state of profound inner peace, calm, and presence where the mind becomes quiet and free from incessant thoughts, judgments, and mental chatter. It is a state of heightened awareness and connection, often cultivated through practices like meditation, mindfulness, or being in nature. The key aspects of inner stillness are:
A quieting of the thinking mind, moving beyond the constant stream of thoughts, opinions, and mental noise. It involves creating gaps or spaces in the incessant thinking process.
A deep sense of peace, calm, and tranquility within, despite any external circumstances or stressors. The mind is stable and undisturbed.
Heightened presence and awareness, being fully grounded in the present moment rather than caught up in the past or future. There is a sense of connection to one's inner essence.
Access to the subconscious mind, intuition, and insights that are often obscured by mental busyness. Solutions and creativity can arise from this stillness.
A state of simply observing the mind and body without getting caught up in thoughts or emotions. There is a sense of detachment from the ego's demands.
In essence, inner stillness is a profound state of presence, peace, and awareness that arises when the constant mental noise subsides, allowing one to tap into a deeper sense of being and connection.
In our next post we will discuss the significance of inner stillness and why it is the first step to living the Happy Just Being life philosophy.
